Which theory seems to better explain biological evolution (and why) Darwinian and Lamarckian ?

Well first off, the Darwinian theory is the most accepted theory of evolution. This question reveals the critical difference that Dawrins theory presents from all other theories. so you should look them up and know why they are different because it is certainly something that will appear in a test. However if you become confused, th Dariwnian theory can also be described as Survival of the Fittest. Darwin stated that animals were all the same, but through some process(he didnt exactly know yet) some animals would be different(what we know as mutations) and the animals that got good mutations such as better camoflague would survive better and would reproduce and spread the good mutation with its offspring. So basically by chance an animal would be different, the different thing would either turn out to be helpful or harmful, if it was helpful then the animal would survuve better and was more likly to have babies, and thats how animals adapted kinda by accident. Lamanarck said something similar but instead of the adaptions being caused by mutatuion, he stated that they were aquaired then passed on. So giraffes for example, if they bottom branches of a tree ran out to eat from, then it would stretch and stretch its neck trying to reach the higher branches that the neck would eventually grow longer and longer. Then after it grows long in the neck it goes and has babies, and the babies will also have long necks because the dad got a long neck. So basically they animals aquire and arent born with the differences and thats how the trait is passed down.
