- What is cartilage? What is its role in the skeletal system? - List three functions of the human skeleton.
Cartilage is the softer tissue in the skeletal structure... It's used as padding and as a building block in several areas of your body such as behind your knee cap or your nose and ears
Well think of the way it's set up. the particular things it covers and "Protects" such as the vital organs and soft tissue (like the cartilage). It also gives your body the unique shape that you see when you look in the mirror. Some people have higher cheek bones or a oddly shaped rib cage. the third one I'd mention is the movement. your muscles and tendons may be what force your body to move but they are all attached to the skeletal structure in ways that allow that movement to be possible. Such as the way the bicep is connected to your upper am and shoulder to allow you to bend at the elbow. http://www.livestrong.com/article/115165-functions-skeleton/
