OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you find the growth rate of a set of numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example, 4, 12, 36, 108

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first example is a geometric sequence, and every number is being multiplied by 6. Common ratio is 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they are being multiplied by 3 though..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

318/53 = 6 53* 6 = 318 318*6 =1908

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the second one is being multiplied by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12/4 = 3 3*4 = 12 3*12 = 36 and so on..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see, but how would you turn that into a percentage? for example, the growth factor of 8,16, 32, 64 is two and the growth rate is 100%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 = 300%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait sorry...i gtg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 200%, but i dont know how to find it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, well thanks... i suppose
