(Romeo and Juliet) When she finds Juliet weeping, Lady Capulet assumes that Juliet is still mourning over Tybalt's death. Explain why Shakespeare gives Juliet lines filled with double meanings. Support your ideas with at least two details from the play. (Best answer gets medal and fan)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Well - Juliet loved Romeo. However, she could not tell Lady Capulet. Lady Capulet thought her mournful words were about Tybalt, but they were actually in fear for Romeo, our of remorse and a broken heart. The point were Romeo killed Tybalt can be considered the turning point. Juliet knows now that her family will never accept Romeo - so she expresses her disbelief and love at the same time, causing a rather inadvertently bittersweet tone.
