OpenStudy (anonymous):

In his homework, Dale is asked to describe the energy of a cat sitting in a window. Dale writes that the cat has potential energy because of its distance from the ground. His teacher responds that his description is not wrong, but that it could be better. How could Dale improve his answer?

OpenStudy (a1234):

1. The cat's potential energy becomes kinetic when it jumps to the ground. 2. Mechanical energy is also involved- the food it ate is converted to this form to allow movements such as the beating of the heart. It can be used when the cat jumps or moves. That's what I came up with, but check your textbook if something more is expected. P.S. There's a Physics section, too; I think this question fits better there.
