OpenStudy (djcall11):

when you did the problem what outcome did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

48

OpenStudy (djcall11):

what did the problem say to do simplify?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

jus say simplify the following

OpenStudy (djcall11):

basically pemdas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PEMDAS Parentheses, exponents, multiplication and division, addition and subtraction So 4 * 12 - (15) / 5 - (3) 4 * 12 - 15 / 5 - 3 48 - 15/5 - 3 48 - 3 - 3 48 - 6 42

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, you are rigth thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anytime :)

OpenStudy (djcall11):

wait what?

OpenStudy (djcall11):

OpenStudy (djcall11):

33/2 or 1 16--- 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um. how'd you get 5 from 4 * 12?

OpenStudy (djcall11):

umm look at it again

OpenStudy (djcall11):

@jadeybells So 4 * 12 - (15) / 5 - (3) 4 * 12 - 15 / 5 - 3 48 - 15/5 - 3 33/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PEMDAS remember, division (15/5) comes before subtraction (48 - 15)

OpenStudy (djcall11):

@jadeybells i use this to check my work https://www.wolframalpha.com/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then check it againbecause I just put in the expression and got 42

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is all about the PEMDAS @Djcall11 Doesn't matter the order of the operatiosn in the expression, just follow PEMDAS

OpenStudy (djcall11):

@Marleny69 how did the problem look like

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! @Djcall11 I see where you're coming from now! But I still believe it's 42. I'm sorry, I though-sorry >.<

OpenStudy (djcall11):

@Marleny69 stop laughing and and answer back
