Sorry, Brian. If this problem comes from a test, you may not ask for help here on OpenStudy for such a question. You may request all the help you want with practice HW problems, hopefully before you take the actual test. Secondly, if this is the first time you're seeing this kind of problem (predicting a number in an arithmetic series), it's too late. Come back after the test is over, when you're no longer under pressure, and I'd then be happy to get you started on arithmetic and geometric series.
