In "Mowgli's Brothers," why does Shere Khan feed the young wolves scraps, flatter them, and remind them that they cannot look Mowgli in the eye? A. He is trying to teach them the Law of the Jungle. B. He wants to win their loyalty. C. He wants to kill them with trickery. D. He loves them as if they were his own children.

please help!

OpenStudy (lovelyanna):

It isn't A because Shere Khan himself never followed the Law of the Jungle. It isn't D because Shere Khan isn't kind and doesn't treat anyone as his own child. I would say it's B, it's the closest one in my opinion.
