Suppose you have data that shows that 12% of athletes test positive for steroids. You also know that 11% of athletes test positive for steroids and actually use steroids. What is the probability that an athlete uses steroids, given that he tests positive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(A).37, (B).43, (C).51, (D).67, (E).92

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not that good so if you dont pass dont blame me so i will tell you what i think or explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mr.Man420

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mr.Man420 hello or i wont help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

explain please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mr.Man420 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lala525 Your too dam fast (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well what i see is that first i added then multiplie so what do you think like i said dont blame me cuz if you have trouble @Mr.Man420 you get a math book or something or ask someone else if the person does not know so........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wouldn't blame you. At least your helping.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/ yeah i guess i am

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(: i really don't know where to begin tho.

is that in mean way or nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's in a nice way(: have a great day.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bye

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

this is conditional probability \[P(A|B) = \frac{P(A and B)}{P(B)}\] A is prob he uses steroids B is prob he tests positive A and B is prob he both uses and tests positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still kinda lost. Will i use that formula to come up with the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@chineseboy15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would you be able to help i saw you looking?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mr.Man420 my dude i dont know this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill take your word for it. How did you come up with D tho?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its all about taking it away from 100 percent,if I remember correctly remember,i said I think
