OpenStudy (starryknight):

please help me with this :))) Factor 12a4 + 16a6 using the distributive property. answer choices; 4a4(3 + 4a) 4a2(3 + 4a2) 4a4(3 + 4a2) 4a4(3a + 4a2)

OpenStudy (ledah):

are those the answer choices given for the problem? that kinda confused me, quite a bit actually.

OpenStudy (starryknight):

yes

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Well look at what both terms have in common.. what numbers go into both 12 and 16 evenly? Well all the answer choices involve 4...so yes 4 is a good one....so if you factor out a 4 from that equation you get 4(3a^4 + 4a^6) Now what else do we have? Both terms have 'a's in them...and it look like they both have at least a^4 in them...so lets factor that out 4a^4(3 + 4a^2)

OpenStudy (ledah):

@johnweldon1993, Thank you. cause my brain is working too slow right now lol!

OpenStudy (ledah):

I'll be quiet now. john has it from here. Cheers

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Did that make sense @starryknight ?

OpenStudy (starryknight):

thanx anyways ledah :)))

OpenStudy (ledah):

I apologize for my slowness right now. ^^ but maybe I can be useful later
