Find the surface area of the cone in terms of pie.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the dimensions of the cone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one second im attackin the file

OpenStudy (anonymous):

attackin? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg lol sorry meant attaching

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know the equation for SA of a cone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i have a formula chart that has it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the problem is i dont know how to fid the slant height even thow it gave me the regular height.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well just use the Pythagorean thm. Im hoping you know what that is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes lol i know how to do Pythagorean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you can either use that or realize that the triangle formed is a 3,4,5 triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so i would do 3 squared plus 4 squared to get c squared which is my slant height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya it is also a set triangle meaning that it is a 3,4,5 triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

other sets are 5,12,13 and ones that i forget

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok wow thank you vary much for the help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

welcome so im guessing you can solve it from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the problem was i was used to just getting the slant height automatically i got lost when it gave me only the regular height.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lol well im glad you understand it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you vary much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw :D
