Hmm...I got a weird result of 0.0009 when I solved this. Ha, I'm gonna sit on this one and think. I'll get back to you ASAP.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer c.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oooh, how'd you get it, how'd you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'M DYING TO KNOW!!!

OpenStudy (yacoub1993):

im confused i also got 0.0009

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Yacoub1993; it doesn't make sense. Our approach should have worked.

OpenStudy (yacoub1993):

@faylynn can u show us the work please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hang on... i am writing it!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You done, Fay? Hm? How's it going, Fay? Hey Fay, 'bout that problem... You finished yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to change 1/5 into a decimal.. which is 0.2 then distribute.. you get -0.4x + 1.2= -1.6 + 2x.. -2 to each side u get -2.4x + 1.2= -1.6... -1.2 from each side u get -2.4x = -2.8.. divide -2.4... you get x= 1.6

OpenStudy (yacoub1993):

@faylynn but C is 7/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So...I turn the exponent into a decimal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where'd Fay go?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry its 1.16 and the 6 is repeating change that to a fraction you get 1&1/6... which is 7/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

FAY I NEED TO KNOW THINGS You turned the exponent into a decimal, then? Does that make it easier to solve?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what exponent??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Yacoub1993, Imma do this thing again and see what I get when I turn the exponent into a decimal...BRB.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats a fraction.. and yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 1/5 exponent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You turned it into 0.2, then distributed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.. thats what i said!!! lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oooooookay... Take a quick look, guys...What did I do wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the fraction is NOT an exponent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait... You're saying 1/5 is NOT an exponent? How can you tell?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.. try it as a fraction... then follow the rules i said they see what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright. I'll do it your way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did u get.... huh!!! lol
