f(0)= 25, f(n) = 3f (n-1), find the next five terms

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

this is an exercise in following directions f(n) = 3 f(n-1) means what it says: f(n) = 3 times the previous f (i.e. at n-1) you start with n=0 the first line says f(0)= 25 (that was easy) what is f(1) ? use the rule f(1) = 3* f(1-1) or 3*f(0) what is f(0)? 25! and 3*25=75 we now know f(1)= 75 can you do f(2) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(2)=225

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that right

@phi help

OpenStudy (phi):

yes. the rule is pretty simple. the next number is 3 times the last one. the next one f(3) will be 3 times 225 = 675
