force of gravity always depends on the mass and the distance of two objects. according to Newton's universal gravitation, the force of gravity to the product of the masses is directly proportional and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them. Therefore, since planet Y is farther than planet x, it should have a lesser force of attraction with the sun :)
