-4y + 5 ≥ 17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you wanting a graph or are we solving for the variable "y"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve the following inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y ≤ -3 y ≤ 3 y ≥ -3 y ≥ 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk which one is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what you have to do is take any number that is not attached to a variable and take it to the other side by doing cancelation to where when you do something on one side you have to do it on the side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtract 5 then out of 17 and divide by -4y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we are going to end up with -4\[(-4y)ge12\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

greater than and equal to 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-47+5 hor eagual to 17, subtract 5 from 17 you get 12 then dividee -4 by 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so now we just want the variable by itself so we are going to divide just by the -4. and whenever you divide by a negative you flip the inequality sign so then you will have \[y \le3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3 im sorry the inequality sign is the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay thank you soo much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y \le-3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y ≤ -3 correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4y – 8 > -32 do u do the same for this one
