OpenStudy (jadeishere):

1 to 4 as 6 is to 24 is true. 6/6 = 1 24 / 6 = 4 1/4 is as 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so yes?

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which ratio can be used to form a proportion with the given ratio? 8 to 12 A.6 to 9 B.10 to 14 C.12 to 16 D.64 to 144

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

well 8/12 is 2/3 that being 12/4 = 3 8/4 = 2 and 6/9 is also 2/3, that being 9/3 = 3 and 6/3 = 2 so 6/9

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

and 64, 144, because that is also 8/12

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

no, it's 6/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are 4 boys and 6 girls in a singing group. The ratio of boys to girls on the debate team is proportional to the ratio of boys to girls in the singing group. Which could be the number of boys and girls on the debate team? A.6 boys and 8 girls B.6 boys and 9 girls C.10 boys and 12 girls D.16 boys and 36 girls

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

You need to test each option. Cross multiply, and see if u get same thing both.\[\frac{ 8 }{ 12}=\frac{ 6 }{ 9 }\]

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Can you tell me the ratio of boys and girls in the singing group ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4:6*

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Yes? I was going to let Yana do it :/ She seems anxious to help >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well then @YanaSidlinskiy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (yanasidlinskiy):

Go ahead @Jadeishere I'm loosing connection:(..I'm going offline:(

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Aw, well kay :P I'll help in every which way that I can

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

so in 4 is to 6, we're looking for a proportion, right? if 4/6 were simplified, what would it be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/3?

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Yep :D

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

Okay so the ratio of the debate team comes from these four options; 6/8, 6/9, 10/12 and 16/36. 6/8 simplified would actually be.. 3/4. Does 3/4 = 2/3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

OpenStudy (jadeishere):

No. it does not. Change it to a decimal form. 3/4 = 0.75 2/3 = 0.666667 Ha thank you so does 0.75 = 0.66?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no.... oops

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Jadeishere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please help. i got C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help me.

@wile_e_coyote @xlovely_Lizardx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a hard one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@timaashorty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got C. am i correct? or not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please help me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@lucyv7129 @DJ3strella @gavin39 @TakerraT @Tay(//_0)babe<3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can' t see the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um ok here There are 4 boys and 6 girls in a singing group.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got both a and c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because 4+2=6 and 6+2=8, so they increase by the same amount and in c it increases by 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see how you got that. i dunno if we simplify or not. i think we do so ima go with a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which pair of ratios form a proportion? A.5 : 11 and 6 : 12 B.7 : 13 and 21 : 39 C.8 : 14 and 24 : 30 D.10 : 20 and 20 : 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a and b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um..... it cant be 2................ just 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was b. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx u.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, but in a you add 1 to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)
