4x²-1
Please state your question clearly. Not everybody may understand what you are trying to say. Just making sure: Are you trying to solve this? Correct?
is this an algebra expression..do you plug something for x?
@Dinlovetter . I know that you are not used to this like I see your SmartScore. Just like I said above state your question clearly, so that way everyone can help you here. Good Luck!
agree
I love you yanasldlinskly .
Alright. So this involves a difference of two squares. Do you know what that is?
Please can you help me and do this problem for me 4x²-1
No I don't know what is that mean
An example will be easiest to show what this is. So, say you have x^2-9. If you factor this, you need to have two variables that multiply to create x^2. You also need two numbers when multiplied will give you -9. In a difference of two squares, you'll get something like this: (a+b)(a-b) So in the case of x^2-9, you'll get something like this: (x+3)(x-3) When you expand it, you'll get x^2 -3x +3x -9. Both of the 3x cancel out. So for 4x^2-1, 2x will be your starting point. (2x- __) (2x+ __) What two numbers could you multiply to get 4x^2-9?
