I'm having trouble translating a Japanese sentence ねむれないわたしはかんがえる I understand in romaji that it is Nemurenai watashi wa kangaeru kangaeru means to think watashiwa means I am I cannot find anything on the usage of nemurenai tho

OpenStudy (opcode):

The -nai form of a verb, indicates it is negative. ねむれない looks like an inflection of ねむれる. (-ru form is dictionary form.) ねむれる means "to sleep". (to sleep/to fall asleep/etc.) ねる is listed in my dictionary as "to sleep" as well, I did some Google can found a link online that explains the difference. (Check it out below. ^_^) ねむれない (-nai is the negative form, hence "unable to fall asleep.") Put it all together: Unable to feel asleep, I think.
