A circle has its center at (-1, 2) and a radius of 3 units. What is the equation of the circle? (x - 1)2 + (y + 2)2 = 3 (x + 1)2 + (y - 2)2 = 3 (x + 1)2 + (y + 2)2 = 9 (x + 1)2 + (y - 2)2 = 9

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

General equation of a circle: \[(x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2\] Where (h,k) is the center of the circle. And 'r' is the radius of the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so are you say B is the correct answer?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Almost. You got the left side of the equation right. Take a look at the right side again. r^2 should be on the right side, and the radius of your circle is 3 units.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it would be D right?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Yes ma'am.
