OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

In a raffle, Scott buys 10 tickets and his friend Tom buys 6 tickets. If there are 80 tickets sold, what is the probability that Scott or Tom will win? PLEASE EXPLAIN!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the rule of total probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is add the probability that Scott will win to the Prob that tom will win. Think of it this way what if Scott bought 10 tics then 6 more. We would say what is the prob that scott or scott wins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that help?

OpenStudy (mackenzie2013):

So take 10 and add 6 too it ?
