Which line represents the direct variation equation y =1/2 x? line a line b line c line d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plug in some numbers into 1/2 x, and see if those coordinate pairs match up with one of those lines... :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, but how does that help me find out which line is the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To start with, let's plug in -1, 0, and 1 into 1/2 x. What are your coordinate pair answers? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So take 1/2 and times it by -1 and 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whn i took 1/2*-1 i got 0.5 then 0 with the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For -1, you should get (-1, -0.5) and for 0, you should have (0,0) Which line passes through those two points? :)

hero (hero):

Write as y = x/2 In this way, it is easy to see that at every point, y is always HALF of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@anitasonia98 It would be c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup. Nice job! :)
