Simplify the radical expression.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cancel out the variables leaving sqrt(4x^12 / y^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is (2x^4)/y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm it is 2x^6/y

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

20/5 = 4 \(\sqrt{4} = 2\) \(x^{13}/x = x^{12}\) \(\sqrt{x^{12}} = x^{6}\) \(y^{5}/y^{7} = 1/y^{2}\) \(\sqrt{1/y^{2}} = 1/|y|\) -- The Absolute Values are required because we don't know enough about y. Is it positive? Is it negative?
