For your first question: One. Perpendicular lines can only be perpendicular when they cross only one way. (It's hard to explain this one) For your second question: Should be one. It's really difficult to explain the postulate though ; w ;

I would think for the first one it would be infinity. If you put line segment on a x-axis, you can draw an infinite number of perpendicular lines across the line BC. because to make a perpendicular line the angles need to 90 degrees. Then the same can be said of parallel lines for the second question. anitasonia98, would you mind trying to explain it, because I do not get how it can only be one?

It's hard explaining it... As for the first question, this is specifically talking about a triangle. The line must go through point A and not off of it, so there can only be one line that goes through point A and is perpendicular. For the second, you need to have a line parallel to AB that also goes through point C. So there's only one..
