help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do u need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im drawing my anwser

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok take ur time :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1397744362299:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

estimate the circumference of the circle with the given radius or diameter

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

\[C=\pi \times d\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so right now u have to make sure if u do diamter u go from one end to the other

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

\[D=r \times 2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would look like this|dw:1397744733681:dw|

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Pi can be approximated as 3.14.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now u have to multiply 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know it is kind of confusing but...Well let me put it like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24*2=48So 48/3.14=15.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look back up at the circle u drew. Now the diameter is 48 cause u multiply 28*25and it gives u 48 Next u divide 48 by 3.14 and u get 15.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 150.72 by doing this 3.14*24*2 and i got 150.72

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@owl66 Sorry for interrupting, but why did you divide 48 by 3.14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the way my teacher showed me in class and my math book showed me that when u multiply two numbers u divide it by that number and 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont really think it is the correct way tho :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we both got the same anwser and @calculusxy he did 24*2 to get 48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The way @lilcece did it is actually the correct way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So yes @lilcece round 150.72 and u will get 151

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So ur answer is D

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

I understood that you get 48 by multiplying. But I believe that to find the circumference you multiply. But I couldn't understand why owl66 wrote "Next u divide 48 by 3.14 and u get 15.2"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i got the right answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I told u why I did that @calculusxy my teacher said any time I do that u divide that number into 3.14 even tho I know she is wrong about it I still do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no you times it @calculusxy

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Yes that's what I wanted to hear.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is correct @lilcece

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait u wanted to hear what

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

That you multiply it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh right :P

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Wow we all have one medal!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanxs bye lol

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c ya xD
