OpenStudy (nikato):

after someone picks the fruit, do they put it back in or leave it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

leave it out

OpenStudy (nikato):

can you find the probability that jack will pick a peach?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hardly know probabilities. :( 5/14?

OpenStudy (nikato):

thats not true^ and you are right! its is 5/14. there are a total of 14 fruits and only 5 are peaches so you are right, 5/14 so whats the probability of getting an orange now that you have one less fruit in the basket?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/13?

OpenStudy (nikato):

yes and now multiply them together whats 5/14 x 2/13?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OOOOOOHHHH It's 5/91

OpenStudy (nikato):

YES!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D Thanks for going over this with me!!

OpenStudy (nikato):
