How do I find the restriction on the expression 3x+5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The original operation was 9x^2+30x+25/3x+5 and I've solved it to it's solution.. I just need help finding the restrictions please

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well you need to look at the denominator... what value makes the denominator zero so solve 3x + 5 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I solve all together or like, subtract five from both sides and then divide by 3...

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

but the interesting thing is that the simplified version of your problem is just 3x + 5 yes, just solve it in the normal manner

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -5/3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know! haha, that is very funny :P

OpenStudy (campbell_st):
