help!!!! Bruce has a bottle that contains 60% of lemon juice and the rest water. The bottle has 1 liter of water. Part A: Write an equation in one variable that can be used to find the total number of liters of lemon juice and water in the bottle. Define the variable used in the equation. (5 points) Part B: How many liters of lemon juice are present in the bottle? Show your work.

I got your answer....I am just trying to make an equation.....I figured it with a proportion ... This is what I did... 40/1 = 100/x (40% to 1 liter = 100% to x liters) cross multiply 40x = 100 x = 100/40 x = 2.5 (total liters are 2.5) 60% (lemon juice) * 2.5 = 1.5 liters 40% (water) * 2.5 = 1 liter added together = 2.5 liters Will that work ?
YES THAT IS FINE!! will an equation be y=.6x+1?
I am not sure...you have 2 variables. I thought you were only supposed to have 1
actually, my proportion is an equation with 1 variable but I am not sure if your teacher wants it done that way. I did my best.
I am sorry but I have to go now.....good luck
