3x+4y=16 -4x-3y=-19

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

should the 2nd equation be -4x -3y = -19...?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

and what do you need to do to the 2 equations...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Express the answer in a ordered pair in a format (a,b)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok... so you are solving simultaneously..? or graphically..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Graphically

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

ok.... so find the intercepts for both lines 3x + 4y = 16 is x = 0... you can find the y- intercept... so you are solving 4y = 16 the line cuts the y-axis at (0, answer) similar for the x- intercept... let y = 0... so you are solving 3x = 16 the line cute the x axis at (answer, 0) now draw a line through the 2 points.... same process for the 2nd line.... find the x and y intercepts.... draw the line... read off where they intersect... hope it helps
