sinX/cosX +cosX/1+sinX It has to be simplified in simplest terms. My teacher said that the answer will be secX.

OpenStudy (muhammad_nauman_umair):
by taking LCM we get
sinx(1+sinx)+cos^2x / cosx(1+sin x)
OpenStudy (muhammad_nauman_umair):
further simplification fives us
sinx +1 / cosx( 1+sin x)
OpenStudy (muhammad_nauman_umair):
hence u got what ur teacher told
OpenStudy (muhammad_nauman_umair):
got it?

Yeah, I understand it now

Thanks!

k
OpenStudy (muhammad_nauman_umair):
after taking the lcm
we get
sinx+sin^2x+cos^2x / cosx(1+sin x)
where sin^2x+cos^2x =1
then we get
sinx +1 / cosx( 1+sin x)
by cancellation we get
1/ cos x
which is secx
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Is there a way to get the answer without taking the LCM?

what is the problem with lcm
OpenStudy (anonymous):
My teacher is very picky with methods we choose to take and also I don't understand how taking the lcm gives you sinx+sin^2x+cos^2x / cosx(1+sin x)
