OpenStudy (aravindg):

Range is the set of all y values the function can give under the condition of domain. Any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

try reforming the domain the exercise gave you to find the range of the function f in other words to go from x>1 to f(x)>something

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really. Im really new to this

OpenStudy (shiraz14):

This is a continuously-increasing function for x>1. The graph is shown as below: |dw:1398189566961:dw| So considering only x>1, can you deduce the range of f(x) (i.e. f(x) will span across which values)?

OpenStudy (shiraz14):

When x=1, f(x) = 2^3=8. Since x>1, f(x)>8. So the range of f(x) = (8, inf)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x>1 <=> x+1>1 <=>(x+1)^3>1<=>f(x)>1
