I believe its B. A noun clause is a subordinate clause that is used like a noun, so before the race would be it since you are concerned you will finish or not.

No, no, the noun clause here is "whether I'd finish" — my concern was <something>, and that <something> is "whether I'd finish". "before the big race" is not used as a noun!
