do it yourself retard

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lolololol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi ?

OpenStudy (phi):

you first set up 4 separate equations... between corresponding elements. can you do that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um.. so one would be -12-w^2, and 2f*3 and 2k-81 and -14*3?

OpenStudy (phi):

correspond elements means the top left "number" in the first matrix equals the top left number in the second matrix. so, for example, the first equation is -12 = 2k can you do the others ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oohh i think so.. so the second one would be -w^2 = -81, and the third would be 2f = -14 and the 4th would be 3 = 3?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes. the last equation 3=3 does not have to be solved. so you have 3 problems to figure out -12 = 2k -w^2 = -81 2f = -14 can you solve for k in the first equation ? I would divide both sides by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yup ok! i can solve these now, i just had no idea how to start it:) thanks so much!!:)

OpenStudy (phi):

btw, for -w^2 = -81 you get w^2 = 81 w= +9 or -9 (so w has two possible answers)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh, thanks!!:)
