please help me find whitch solution is true@marigirl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (marigirl):

I believe its A

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

okay well c and d cant be it because c= a really big number XD d= just normal 23 and yeah its either a or b

OpenStudy (marigirl):

would u like me to explain? TheOcean?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Not A, What is √529?

OpenStudy (marigirl):

sqrt529 is 23 which is the same as (sqrt23)^2.. cuz when u have a square root, it is the same as the power of 1/2 (half). hence when u mltiply the power sqrt 23 ^2 same as (23^2)^1/2 which is 23^1 which is 23

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

the square of 529 = 23 but thats not what the questions asking i do believe its A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tHe_FiZiCx99 what do u think it is

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

@TheOcean \(\ \sf Always \) remember that \(\ \sf \pm \sqrt{?} \) is a number times itself, the reason why there's a \(\ \pm \) is because if you were to multiply a number times itself, a negative * negative = positive, So if you \(\ \sf take ~ the squareroot ~ of ~ 529, \sqrt{529} = 23 \) so if it's times \(\ \sf itself\) then \(\ 23^2 = 23 * 23 = 529 \)! and visa versa, \(\ \sf \sqrt{529} = 23 \)

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

But sqrt529=23 isnt an answer.... its sqrt529=23^2 which isnt true..... for 23^2= just plain old 529, no sqrts involved....

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

True but it's √529 xD, 23^2 = 529 The way I was looking at it is, which is equal to each other, √529 = 23, 23^2 = 529 √529 = 23, √23^2 = (23^2) = 2/2 * 1/2 = 2/2 = 1, 23^1 = 23 It's actually asking which equation is true, the square and square root would cancel out, so in that way A is actually true.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

(23^2)^1/2 * typo

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so...

OpenStudy (lovelyharmonics):

unanimous decision on A

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

The equation A is true, however a statement would be √529 = 23

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Just go with A, I misread the part it said "equation" >.< Sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lolol ok
