The slope of the line passing through A and E is equal to Rise/Run Since on the way to E it drops by 3 - (-5) or 8, and it moves over -6 - (-4.5) or -1.5 I think E is at -4.5, right? It's hard to tell in the attachment. So the slope is -8/1.5. A perpendicular line has the inverse of the slope. The inverse is the fraction flipped upside down, multiplied by -1. So 1.5/8 (Solve this as 3/16) Since it doesn't specify where the intercept should be, we can use Y= (3/16) x + 80085 as an appropriate perpendicular.
