how to evaluate exponent question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5^-2 - 5^-1 / 5^-2 + 5^0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5^-2 = 1 / 5^2 = 1/25 5^-1 = 1 / 5^1 = 1/5 5^0=0 So what you have is, \[\frac{1/25-1/5}{1/25+1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you take it from here, or in need more help ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant 5^0=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can take it from here thanks so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well its all depending on your exponent question but still if you need help i could help you too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it possible to do the question using exponent laws , instead of converting the numbers to fractions??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, not really... not in this case.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i agree its not really possible but no.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{1/25-1/5}{1/25+1}\] \[\frac{1/25-5/25}{1/25+25/25}\] \[\frac{-~4/25}{26/25}\] \[\frac{-~4}{26}\] \[-\frac{~2}{13}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's all :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i see, thanks again to both of you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont thank me cx thank him i just agreed. lol
