Plant part that uses meiosis during reproduction a. root b. stem c. leaf d. root, stem, or leaf e. no root, stem, or leaf f. stem or leaf
The answer is D.
@OM14forever ARG! Is this a question from your teacher? Is this a middle school or high school question (really anything but a 4 year university)? I ask because this question is a very poor question. There is no good answer. We need to clarify a few things: By reproduction does the question mean reproduction to create a new, individual plant? Or, does reproduction just mean cellular replication and vegetative growth? Does E mean no root, no stem, and no leaf? No root, yes stem, yes leaf. Meiosis results in daughter cells that have 1/2 the number of chromosomes as the parent. Eg, in humans we have 46 chromosomes, but we have two copies* of each chromosome—23 copies. After meiosis there are 23 chromosomes in a sperm or egg cell. I bring this up because plants use meiosis to create their sperm and egg cells and not of the options are good answers for where the meiosis occurs.
Seriously? Plants don't have egg and sperm cells. What you just said is completely wrong.
