Solve (x+2)(x-3)=6. Will give medal to whoever answers with explanation! :D

Well we could make some guesses and possibly come to an answer. But if we want to solve this algebraically, we have to have a zero on the right to use zero-product property or quadratic formula. That means we need to undo this multiplication and assimilate the 6 into the quadratic equation. ( x + 2 )( x - 3 ) = 6 We would expand the left-hand side by FOIL method or distribution. Then we subtract 6 from both sides. We can then re-factor the left side.

Thanks! :D This is very helpful!
