Please help, I'm being timed and i can't figure this out. The area of a parallelogram is 12 ft² after its dimensions were doubled. What is the area of the original parallelogram

OpenStudy (a1234):

I guess it would be 6ft^2, since the dimensions were doubled in the new parallelogram.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, could you help me with one more? @a1234

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

No because the areas are in the ratio of the squares of the dimensions the answer is 3 ft^2

OpenStudy (a1234):

I felt something was missing, cwrw238 is correct. They'll help you.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

let me illustrate let dimensions of big one be 3*4 |dw:1398448799098:dw|
