Am i right? ( i chose A ) Calculate the volume of the rectangular solid if a = 5 meters, b = 3 meters and c = 2 meters. Express your answer in the appropriate units. A) 30 m B) 30 m2 C) 30 m3 D) 30 cm3

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

volume = length x width x height = 5 x 3 x 2 = 30

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

but A is wrong

You can cancel some of them out right away, by looking at the units alone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume = Area * height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Soo....you guys aren't going to be blunt with the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that its 30 but what how do i know which meters do i choose?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

we dont measure volume in meters

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

length : meters area : meters^2 volume : meters^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you find volume, you do base x height x width. When you do area, you do base x height. So if you are finding volume, the exponent will be three and the exponent for area will be two. That is how it'll always be. :)
