using u'v -uv' --------- v^2 ?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Hmm well seeing as how when you plug \(\large \pi \) in for 't' you get an indeterminant form of \(\frac{0}{0}\) It looks like you can apply L'Hospital's rule here Have you used that yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did these a while ago and am doing review right now and am completely blanking out on how to solve limits... :/ original equation being f(a+h)-f(h) ---------- h ? i think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you possibly explain it to me step by step? and then for the next couple, hopefully this will refresh a bit? haha

hartnn (hartnn):

there are couple of ways, if you can use L'Hopitals rule, its very easy. else substitute t-pi = u ever tried substitution in limits ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no :/ how do you do that? :O

hartnn (hartnn):

we change the variable from 't' to 'u' replace every t by u + pi

hartnn (hartnn):

when \(t \to \pi \\ t-\pi\to \pi-\pi \\ u \to 0\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whoah okay... so how do we apply that here? :/ so we plug in like this? lim sin^2 π --------- t-->π π - t ?

hartnn (hartnn):

"replace every t by u + pi"
