Watching a good TV show, the television stopped working. Which revision most effectively corrects the dangling participle? A. The television suddenly stopped working while watching a good TV show. B. I was upset when the television stopped working while watching a good TV show. C. Watching a good TV show, I was upset when the television stopped working. D. While watching a good TV show, the television suddenly stopped working.
The TV could be was watching the show with out a pronoun. So that leaves out A and D. An indefinite pronoun wont make it any clearer. So look at B. There is a pronoun letting the reader know who is upset. But it's unclear who or what is doing the watching. C also has a pronoun letting the reader know who was upset. Does the pronoun also apply to who was watching a good show?
Thank you for your response.... It has been many years since I was in school... I don't even remember dangling modifiers so I struggle with them.... This helped alot!! =)
It' been just a couple of hours since I was in school, but that's where I work. I haven't been a student for, let's say, longer than that. :) And it's a lot :)
