find the difference (-a^2+9ab-b2)-(ab-3b^2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-a ^{2} + 9ab -b ^{2} + -ab+3b\] do you think you can solve it from there or do you want me to show you how to get the answer step by step afterwards?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

show me step by step please because im still confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok simple so how i got that was that since the equation was originally: (-a^2+9ab-b^2)-(ab-3b^2) Since there is a minus sign everything in (ab-3b^2) would turn negative making the equation \[-a ^{2} + 9ab -b ^{2} + -ab+3b ^{2}\] afterwards you just add them together which are the common variables. so the answer should be \[-a+8ab+2b ^{2}\] (sorry i just noticed that typo i had up there it probably threw you off track)

its okay thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was incorrect
