what is a vaccine and gow do they work

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

WELCOME TO OPEN STUDY!! @mmaaaddds!! First of all, a vaccine contains a killed or weakened part of a germ that is responsible for the infection. These vaccines pump up the antibodies present inside our body (They are usually weak). So the antibodies get powered up and will be capable to fight against the disease. So basically vaccine is just a helper in the removal of the diseases..!!

@shreehari499 rather i would say Vaccine is actually a causative organism itself but in a weak state or deactivated state or only part of the organism it is introduced to the body and in the body it is a 'foreign' organism so it triggers the immune system and so Phagocytosis starts taking place Then T helper cells are activated which in turn activates B cells Then B cells start to multiply and form Plasma cells (they produce antibodies in high speed) and Memory cells So thats how we become immune to the disease (because now we have memory cells ready to get rid of the organism (the one we were vaccinated for) as soon as the organism gets into our body So basically saying by getting vaccinated you actually Get the disease but you don't notice it though at times after vaccinating you get a bit sick like you might have fever or vomiting feeling- this is actually a sign that your immune system is fighting against the disease For some people vaccinating does not work and its usually people with weak immune system
