\[3 \over x\] \[minus \] \[5 \over x \] \[=10\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alrighty, so your question looks like this\[\frac{ 3 }{ x }-\frac{ 5 }{ x }=10\]so what we need to do first is multiply everything by x, since we don't like having our variable x in the denominators, after doing that, we get\[x(\frac{ 3-5 }{ x })=10x\]by simplifying this, you'll get \[3-5=10x\]and hey! would you look at how much easier that is to solve :)

what the heck it wouldn't let me write it like that! but thank you thank you thank you!! @Embryo

OpenStudy (paki):

3/x-5/x= 10 take common "1/x".... 1/x*(3-5)=10 1/x*(-2)=10 x= -20
