given f(x)=x^2-x-2 find: f^-1(x)

plz help
@UsukiDoll
can you please be more specific? is it the derivative? what subject is this?
I think there is more than one problem that involves this.. either you have to graph f(x) and take the derivative of the graph... or take the inverse derivative.. I can't tell by these things alone
i just want inverse function
@ranga
To find the inverse function, the original function has to be a one-to-one function. That is, it should pass the horizontal line test. f(x)=x^2-x-2 is a vertical parabola and so a horizontal line will cross the graph at 2 points and therefore it fails the horizontal line test and it is NOT a one-to-one function. The inverse is not defined or does not exist for this function.
thanks a lot @ranga
