Ca(OH)2 + CO2 → Ca(OH)(HCO3) Is this equation balanced? ^ I don't think it is, as there are 4 hydrogens on one side and only 2 on the other, but when I put it into the balancing website it says its balanced?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's balanced. There's 4 O, 2H, 1 Ca, 1 C. on both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But isn't there four on the right side, since there's a 3 at the end, or is that 3 only for the O?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 3 is only for O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay, I feel really dumb now. Thank you for clearing that up :) haha

\[HCO_{3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One more thing, is that a synthesis reaction? It is, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No worries, this is actually a good question.

Gosh dangit, I'm terrible at chemistry. Thank you so much for your help :)
