Determine two pairs of polar coordinates for the point (5, -5) with 0° ≤ θ < 360°.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well when the x and y are the same it's at 45 degrees which is kind of a gimmie. But use the reverse thinking from that other question, if it is +5 in the x direction and -5 in the y direction, which direction is it pointing?

and use Pythagoras' theorem to find the length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um. So these are the options: a. (5 sqrt2, 315°), (-5 sqrt2, 135°) b. (5 sqrt2, 45°), (-5 sqrt2, 225°) c. (5 sqrt2, 135°), (-5 sqrt2, 315°) d. (5 sqrt2, 225°), (-5 sqrt2, 45°)

also they probably want the angle measured from the line pointing towards the right, measured around counter clock wise

I reckon you can get it without me telling you the answer :)
