Which is an equation in point-slope form for the given point and slope? Point: (–2, 4); Slope: 5 A. y + 4 = 5(x + 2) B. y – 4 = 5(x – 2) C. y – 4 = 5(x + 2) D. y + 4 = 5x – 10
y-4=5(x+2)
i have a couple more can u help or no?
affirmative, I will help.
:D okay here ill upload pictures so they're easier to understand
@Boulders
? anything

Given a slope m and a point (a,b), we can find the equation of the line by using the point-slope form: \[y-b = m(x-a)\] Plug in what you know, solve for y, and you'll have a form that you're more used to seeing :)
Oh, you don't even need to solve for y on this one.
oh, okay this looks easy now ;P i have a few more
so y-6 = -3/4(x+2)
Not quite. Your point is (2,-6) so a = 2 and b = -6 Plug them into the formula, and be careful with signs!
y-6=3/4(x-2) ?
thats what i came up with
y-(-6) = (-3/4)(x - 2)
oh... i feel stupid now... but it is not one of the options it gives me so i really don't know what to select.
It is, you just have to remember that subtracting a negative number is actually addition. y-(-6) = y+6
oh i get it now!!!!!
y+6=-3/4(x-2)
that would be the correct one!
There ya go :)
