6=x+2y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are we solving?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are we solving for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure it says to use x=0 and y=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so you have to find the intercepts, that's what I thought you had to do. Ok so all you have to do is set x = 0 to solve for y and set y = 0 to solve for x, does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So lets say you want to solve for x, set y = 0 6 = x+2(0) x = 6 Now solve for y by setting x = 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay now i know what you mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright :), so what did you get for y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 = 0 +2y y = 6/2 = 3 good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=x+2 do i do the same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Depends on the question, but if it's asking you to find the intercepts, yup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it just says practice graphing problems use the table of valued approach include an x=0 and y=0
