Non vascular seedless plants and vascular seedless plants are common and have thrived for millions of years. Nevertheless, very few are important agriculturally. What characteristics do they lack that makes a plant useful in agriculture. Give specific examples.

i can give you a basic idea not the best at this.. but do live on a farm sooo What makes a plant good for agriculture is that the things produced can be wildly used like corn.. it can feed cows/chickens be made in to a fuel so this making it a good renebal resource. a another thing is space needed to grow a another corn example they can be put inches apart.

best i can do

OpenStudy (studybird123):

thanks

For plants to be useful in agriculture they need to be: Easily grown, meaning simple needs and no specialized things like a single species of fungal mycorrhizae partners Have a short life cycle that allows for rapid domestication and enhances the usefulness of the plant after domestication Or have a have a long lifespan but a product that is not dependent on destruction of the plant (like maple trees and maple syrup or rubber trees). There are more but that should be helpful.

OpenStudy (studybird123):

that helps a ton thanks

Oh, and specifically for the seedless plants: the vast majority of plants that are used as a food source have the fruit utilized (wheat, soybeans, tomatoes, corn, etc). Seedless plants (or the Gymnosperms, aka the naked seed plants) lack the either the entire structure used for food ( the seedless) or lack the tissue layer than is most commonly used as food (the gymnosperms).

thanks sooo much :D i am eternally greatful young cricket
